Vibroconvective heat transfer in cylindrical container with oscillating elastic boundaries

Abstract Heat transfer in a horizontal annular region filled with the viscous fluid is studied experimentally. The external boundary of working volume formed by an elastic silicone shell, while internal one – cylindrical copper heater. walls shell are brought into symmetric oscillatory motion two linear servomotors. temperature outside cylinder maintained constant pumping thermally stabilized liquid. experiments conducted low heating power that corresponds to relatively values Rayleigh number. This allows maintaining regime, which forced, vibrational convection main mechanism heat transfer. Theoretical analysis experimental results shows structure flows determined competition between free, thermal and forced steady streaming generated vibration. At sufficiently high intensity oscillations, dominates leads increase rate.
